Aachen's academic scene is characterised by RWTH Aachen University, one of the largest technical universities in Europe, which enjoys high international recognition in research and teaching. Together with FH Aachen, which offers practical training, and Forschungszentrum Jülich as part of the Helmholtz Association, these institutions form a powerful triumvirate of science.
